    Napier Grass

Napier Grass (Pennisetum sp.), also known as Elephant grass or Uganda Grass as it is inherent to African grasslands. Napier grass is a perennial tropical grass. While native to Sub-Saharan tropical Africa, the vigorous growth of this grass makes it one of the most popular and important forages for smallholder livestock farmers in the tropics and subtropics. Earlier its wild species was used primarily for grazing purpose. Pennisetum sp. is a very diverse genus consisting of a heterogeneous group of approximately 140 species; over 300 accessions are available in various gene banks around the world. These variations in Napier grass are primarily attributed to differences in growth habits, leaf morphology, and agronomic characteristics.
    Biogas from Napier Grass
Biogas can be produced from Napier grass through a process called anaerobic digestion. Napier grass is a tropical plant that can grow in dry conditions and is a good substrate for biogas production: Process
    • The process involves mixing Napier grass with organic waste, slurry, or manure in a primary tank, and then putting the mixture into a fermentation tank.
    Yield
    • One metric ton of Napier grass can generate 90–110 cubic meters of biogas, which can be converted into electricity, compressed biogas, or LPG substitute.
    Optimum conditions
    • The optimum conditions for biogas production from Napier grass are a solid concentration of 5%, a methane content of 53%, a yield of 122.4 mL CH4/g TVS remove, and a production rate of 4.8 mL/hr.
    Harvesting age
    • The variety of Napier grass isn't important for biogas, but the harvesting age is. Young Napier grass, harvested in 30–45 days, has a lot of moisture and a solid content of 15–18%.

    • Organic Fertilizer
    • Compressed Bio Gas (CBG)
    • Biogas from Waste
    • Organic Fertilizer
      Organic Fertilizer
We produce organic fertilizer using biogas. A biogas fertilizer can function as a plant growth stimulator and bio-fungicide.
      Organic Fertilizer
    • Compressed Bio Gas (CBG)
      Compressed Bio Gas (CBG)
We remove hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, and water vapor and compress them as Compressed Bio Gas which has a methane content of above 90%. Compressed biogas stored in LPG cylinders and made transportable.
      Compressed Bio Gas (CBG)
    • Biogas from Waste
      Biogas from Waste
We offer comprehensive organic waste collection and management services, turning your agricultural, industrial, or household waste into clean energy.
